Formed Profiles Details
Most physical shapes and profiles can be achieved by choosing an appropriate raw material, raw material starting hardness and tooling design. Have a look at the Products section of this site for some typical values.
Metal Finishing
Electroplating - Most electroplatable finishes on copper alloys.
Tin plating on stainless steel.
Electropolishing - On copper alloys and stainless steel.
Inert heat treatment - On Beryllium Coppers.
Special Product Development
Planart Special Products have many years experience of producing custom designs to customer specifications. Some of processes involved in this type of production are outlined below.
Initial samples
It is our intention to get from product conceptualization to product release without incurring any unnecessary costs and keeping overall development costs to a minimum.
If you wish to try out a new design, we can make bench top samples, usually in short lengths, which will provide you with some actual feedback without any tooling costs.
Prototypes
Following on from the Initial samples, prototypes can be specified and produced which can be used for evaluation of the application, definition and agreement of the final specification and evaluation of the performance of the component.
Wherever possible, these prototypes will be produced on existing in-house tooling and no tooling charge will be incurred.
This stage will also determine the production tooling requirements, based on anticipated volume, Planart capacity impact and anticipated life of program.
Production tooling
In general, production tooling does not include punching and patterning. The main features of the production tooling are profile forming, throughput and quality.
It is therefore possible to keep the cost of production tooling down.
